Our Citizen Agenda offers a hands-on way to understanding our complex political system and how to monitor and affect it. Participants will work together to research their neighborhood to find problems and then identify answers in the form of policy that will demand government involvement through our Curriculum. Participants can also share their research and policy recommendations, giving them a chance to show off their work and promote their policy ideas to their peers. Citizen Agenda events are also held at the state and national levels, where students can participate and share their work with students from all around their state or country.
Citizen engagement is critical for transparent government and effective development, since it improves policy quality and the "science" of service delivery while also increasing social accountability. There's a lot less talk on how to develop and implement participatory procedures that yield the anticipated outcomes. We know that incorporating residents can help a community enhance its performance.
Our Citizen Agenda is an integrated educational approach to promoting competent and responsible engagement in local and state government for primary, secondary, and post-secondary students, youth organizations, and adult communities. Participants will learn how to monitor and shape policy through this program. They gain support for democratic norms and principles, tolerance, and a sense of political efficacy as a result of this process. Participants' active citizenship and governance will be developed as a result of this program.
